How about a suggestion which may reap larger benefits as time goes onward:
Register all as Ventures, and organize a Crew centered around the hobby of
American History and Lore. It's never been done under the Venturing
label...it's been done before a couple of times under the old Exploring
Basically, it's the same group of individuals which get to use the resources
of federal, state, and local organizations and governments...along with the
resources of Scouting...a proven name in education...
Also, the trip, once the tour permit's been filed, gives your group a little
more insurance than the school's, also it provides a source of "advancement"
for those high-achievers within your group.
On the downside, you will need to have additional adult supervision and
control than before, and if it catches on, you might have to have a REAL
