Suggestions for training a Den Chief:
I have seen over and over again that an older Boy scout will talk to Cub
Scouts in a way that hinders rather than helps communication .
1. First when talking with Cub Scouts you have to get there attention, if
you are tall you may have to bend over sit or squat on the ground.
2. Be sure the Cub Scout is looking at you. If the Cub Scout is not looking
at you he does not hear what you are saying.
3.It is VERY easy to lose the attention of a group of Cub Scouts, NEVER
hesitate when you are explaining instructions for a game or craft, you must
be well prepared and NEVER read instructions to them.
Hope this helps
