In thinking back to my trail to eagle, if I had been given the eagle /
wheels stipulation, I probably would not have completed Eagle. I know that
as I turned 16 and then 17, I became very active in school, after school
employment, a explorer post, summer camp staff, SAR, an internship, and
still participate in the troop. Having access to wheels, made it possible
for me to do all of the things I was involved in, which I may not have been
able to do if I was walking.
I was given a different equasion to wheels: You want it, you work for it,
you make the money and then you buy it. This worked quite well for me, and
probably better than the Eagle demand would have ever worked...
