If you like or need maps and haven't played with Terraserver yet,
it out. This demo of MicroSoft's server technology has recently added
USGS topos to the satellite photos they started out with. And they
to make the entire collection of USGS aerial photos available by the
of next year.
I use the MS version (the "green" one,
http://terraserver.microsoft.com/default.asp not the "red" one -
TerraServer.com) which allows you to toggle between the topo and the
photo of the same area and zoom in and out. A color ink jet does a
reasonable job printing the www page as is and you can download both
images if you want for free (unless the photo is from the Russian
agency - they charge.)
They rec using a site like MapBlast!
to first geo-code an address or place and then use the lat / long
calculated there in Terraserver's "advanced search" capabilities.
