Your point is well taken. And it is A GOOD point.
Point: We each should send out totally positive verbiage about our
scout involvement to lessen the confusion factor in communications.
Let me tell you a story I hear every day from moms dads
and kids that starts this whole ball rolling. It is this
rolling ball since we were 9 months that makes the stopping
all the more interesting.
A little 2 yr old is doing something he isn't supposed to
1> Pulling the cats tail
2> Dumping food on the floor
3> Undoing what Mama or Daddy just did.
4> Spitting back his beautiful asparagus
Mom or Dad says "Robert David Junior YOU AREN'T DOING THAT"
Little Bobby Dave, quite a smart AZ 2 yr old says, "YES I AM"
It goes from here round and around as mom or dad says
"YOU AREN'T DOING THAT' and Bobby Dave saying YES I AM
Mom Dad and Jr all having a bit of fun in the process
not realizing they are training Bobby on something that has
long term communication significance.
I am sure you see the parallel to what you have criticized
in some people using mistake to mean goodness.
YiS, IMHO, and may we each attempt to live the SO,SL,SS,SM
