I'd read the post again. They boy wasn't taking Swimming MB.....from what
I gather, he was in "beginners swim" classes. I would agree with the SM.
He's the one that ACTUALLY has to certify that the scout has passed ALL 1st
Class Requirements and state that he is ready for a BOR.
I'm sorry, but I've seen this kind of thing happen at different summer
camps....the kid who's on the pool staff finally gets tired of watching a
scout who is struggling with swimming skills and "signs him off" on the
swimmer's test just to move on to someone else. Now I certainly don't
think that's the way it's SUPPOSED to happen.....but it does happen. The
SM is right to be concerned about the scout's safety in the water and
BLUE SKIES!, Any day above ground is a good day!
