I had one pack (recently transferred to another UC) where over half the
program leaders were members of the city police department. While they
didn't come to meetings often while on duty, it did happen occasionally. And
nobody said a thing. Maybe it was because we had so many, and maybe it was
because anyone complaining would've been handed an adult application to take
over that officer's position. The IH never mentioned it either. And the
committee also included a couple of officers, so it was never a point there.
One of the officers and his son later transferred to one of my other packs
and there's never been a question there, but I don't think he's shown up in
uniform there, yet.
Just my personal experiences. And personally, I like the officers,
whichever uniform they happen to wear on meeting night.
