Call the folks at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin. The post is close to the
convergence of two Interstates, and it's very receptive to Scout units whom
make an EARLY reservation (and especially if you bring your own tentage, as
building space fills up with military annual training going on during the
same time span as you're wanting to come up.
And the food...it's great there.....if you want to eat at the consolidated
dining facility. BSA uniforms and tour permits are a MUST and they know
what they are looking for!!
I wish that I had a phone number to give you, but I'm at home and all of my
military numbers are at work at Fort Snelling. If one of you kind Wisconsin
or Minnesota Scouters would please give Gary the numbers, that would really
help us both out!
If nobody posts it here to the list, I'll post a followup with the number of
the Post Public Affairs Office in the evening tomorrow.
(Gary: give me some idea of when you'll be coming....I may be able to swing
a day trip to the Fort to meet up with you and your Troop)
