Actually, I think that is a relatively low markup for things such as clothing. I have been told that the typical clothing markup is around 100 to 200 percent. The reason is to account for the cost of operating stores or distribution centers and the cost of all of those items which go out of fashion before they get sold. The last is not of interest to BSA but they do still incur a number of expenses for storage, sales and warehouse personnel, etc.
