Thank you for posting the URL. It is nice to read his thoughts
when he is not quite so angry.

How much of the growth and his perceived decline in membership
is/was due to the "baby boom" wave moving through the
nation's demographic profile ??
I have been involved in Cub Scouts for five-plus years and just
under a year on the Boy Scout side. I have never heard his
comments about ' we-blow ' or 'Boys' being negative factors
towards recruiting and retaining older Cub or Boy Scouts.
I still think the ultimate recruiting tool is to make yourself
visible in your community doing the stuff that is fun and
worth doing. Stuff that makes an individual boy say
'yeah, I wanna try that !! '
And that individual choice will be re-inforced or negated by the
program delivered by each individual unit.

Amazing how well your sig line addresses the specific
things that Ed is so concerned about.
