A Varsity Scout Team is a separate unit. A Venture Patrol is a patrol of
boys 13-17 within a troop. While both might do high adventure, HOW they
operate/organize are different. Usually a Venture Patrol is formed only for
each high adventure activitiy, then is disbanded once its done. They still
operate within a Boy Scout Troop, with is a little different then a Varsity
>Are the Varsity Scouts in a separate unit?
YES. They are a Varsity Scout Team. A separate unit with a separate Team
>so, what's the difference between that and a male-only Venture Crew?
A what?? There is no such thing as a Venture Crew. Do you mean a Venturing
Crew? The Venturing program is different then Boy Scout or Varsity Scouts.
They usually specialize in one area, with is NOT the way its done in Boy
Scouts/Varsity Scouts. Thus you can have high adventure Crews or living
history Crews or soccer Crew or what have you. Their program is centered
around the six experience areas of Citizenship, Leadership, Fitness, Social,
Outdoor, and Service. They also have their own advancement program that is
separate from and different from the Boy Scout one.
I hope this helps
