I agree if you choose to purchase tentage through the BSA, that figure is
really low; but as you've stated, decent tentage for a first-year Troop can be
obtained through a retail outlet like Walmart or Big K; or even "seconds"
outfits like REI.
Remember...this is to just to get them started; as the Troop matures, we
they would be able to afford better and more durable tentage.
