Two-deep/YP -- yet another twist

After all the discussion in the past week here's another situation.
I try to arrive at our meeting place about 15 minutes before the meeting
each week to unlock the door, get my paperwork arranged, be available to
meet with Scouts & parents before the meeting, greet people, etc. I walk
in, alone, and find that Steve Scout was dropped off early. Do I
a--say "Hi", turn around and walk out or
b--go about my business with the knowledge that in a minute or two, at
most, someone else will be walking in.
Yes, I know that parents shouldn't drop kids off before leaders get there
but how do you pound that through some people's heads? The church is often
unlocked, so they can walk right in.
This evening we were meeting at 6:30 instead of 7 for a special activity.
About 6:10 I got a call from my ASPL:
"Mr Arend, we were meeting at 6, weren't we?"
"No Alex, at 6:30"
"Oh. I've been here since 5"
