MB book revisions

Tom's question about which MB booklets are scheduled for revision in
2000 raises, in my mind, some greater issues and questions.
This year's debacle with Personal Fitness MB should give BSA and
Scouts-L pause. Top-down decisions which choose a singular exemplar to
write the policy excludes other visions and relevant considerations.
It is probably too late to effect change on the Y2K designated MBs.
But, I would, immodestly, recommend to BSA a different revision
1. Publicly release a three year plan announcing which MBs are scheduled
for revision; inclusion, or decommissioning.
2. Two years out, announce the names of the BSA lead professional (not
necessarily the writer), and any/the advisory team, for each MB so that
visions and recommendations can be submitted for consideration.
3. One year out, circulate any skeletal format or proto-draft for
comment to those who responded to steps 1 & 2.
Of course this would require BSA to become more electronically adept.
This would not assure "the" MB will become what you or I would fully
desire, but it would not only allow the trains to run on time but
increase the likelihood (give the illusion?) they'd stay on the track.
The diversity of knowledge amongst the tens of thousands of volunteers
should be respected by the professionals and their selectees.
