By truncating what I wrote in your response, the meaning of my post was
The and; was important. :)
The main gist was that there is an inconsistency of indentifying with
Baden-Powell on some aspects and at the same time distancing from him
on others as evidenced by Greg Shields (official Scouts spokesman)
comments in the media.
I do not question your interpretation/usage, as a matter of fact, I
kinda like it - a lot...
Shields said the Boys Scouts of America was founded two years after
Baden-Powell launched the Scouts in Great Britain and is a separate
organization. ``Baden-Powell was never a member of Boy Scouts of
America,'' Shields said.
