Re-introduction... and a request.

Just thought I would re-introduce myself to the list. My partner in crime,
the infamous "Dan the Man" Roberts has been bugging me to get back on, and
since I can't work (I have pneumonia) I thought I would re-subscribe.
I have been on the Cub Scout RT staff for the last 4.5 years and will be
taking over the Boy Scout RT as commissioner this April. I joined the Boy
Scouts at the tender age of 9 way back when in Orlando, Fl, got myself to
Life, joined a canoeing Explorer Post, did a bunch of paddling (dare you to
ask) and was ASM for a troop in Gainesville till I was @24 or so. I rejoined
Scouts with a terrific Tiger @ 5.5 years ago, and was asked to join the Cub
RT when it turned out I was the only one who could tie a square knot in the
bunch (talk about your scrapin' the bottom of the barrel). Right after that,
my pack asked me to be Cub Master (something the good folk here on the list
made to seem so easy). As it turned out, the only way they could get me to
take Basic Training and OLT was to get me to teach it, so I did that along
the way too. Got my picture in the Scouter's Magazine doing cheers for the
University of Scouting down here and even got to teach classes on Skits and
on Songs. I am not one to shirk from a challenge and yet still, I have felt
comfortable over the years with everything I have done in Scouts, up until
now... So please tell me, in your most gentle way, how am I going to keep my
wits and fun-loving self as I cross over to the Boy Scout side of the fray.
BTW... that Tiger is now a Scout working on his Tenderfoot.
One more thing... I dearly love to sing, play the harmonica, and pull your
leg if I can... OK, I guess that was three. (Did I ever tell you, that what
you guys commonly call a flamingo is REALLY a Florida Bobwhite??? You should
know these things if you're goin' to teach the boys right.)
Great big Bob-Hugs...
FlaBob-Pete (If its not for the Boys, its
for the birds...)
