Hi Fellow Scouts-Lrs,
Several people replied to me that they have not practiced
or seen practiced this animal called a Non-Advancement BoR.
(NOW How did I know that!!
(HEE HEE I never heard it either before Scouts-L and the great
(scouters and scouts resident here and reading BSA's literature;
(although common sense should have told each of us this had to =
(be part of BSA.
Anyway some sources of information, other than Scouts-Lrs
who know and do this stuff with style as well as understand
the when and when nots like FDIC-DanK, WI-MarkA, our great =
buddy JoeA, PaulW, BruceC, and many others.
Troop Committee Guidebook #34505B c>1998

a>The 1st paragraph just under the three purposes
b>A long section on Page:31
A>Who calls these animals
a>Officially the Troop Committee Advancement Person
who stays in tune with the SM / ASM-Advancement / CC / SPL
ASPL/ etc is the (s)he. YET like all things in scouting
the TC-Advancement Chair(o)man serves all.
Advancement Committee-Policies and Procedures #33088B R>1999
(This is the new 1999 edition of the National Advancement GLs)
(I don't like the title YET Who am I compared to Intelligent Ivory =
(Irving. Only kidding JohnD!! friend of a few great Scouts-Lrs.
1>Boards of Review Page:19
1a>Right at the beginning it exposes you to the Non-Advancement BoR
and then spends the rest of the section on the standard Advancement
BoR. Much of this stuff which is Spirit, Advancement, and Interest
Oriented can be used for a Non-Adv BoR.

Rules and Regulations
1>Boy Scout Advancement Clause 7
1a>Basically the idea is that the Troop Committee is a part of and =
responsible for helping the Program for EACH boy's advancement.
1b>Often times you will see a Troop Committee and parents totally
defer to either the SM, CC, CoR, or IH and not realize that they
too are part of the official highly parallel advancement system.
Boyscout Handbook c>99 (The colorful, with less information one
a>RECOMMENDATION: It would be nice if someplace in the BS-HNBK
if a small blurb would be put in about the Non-Adv BoR to
encourage the scouts or parents to ask for one this animal if =
they felt it was important.
YiS, IMHO, and may we each attempt to live the SO,SL,SS,SM
