We have a question that has arisen in our district pertaining to the adult

Nowhere in any of the requirements for any knot, for pack service/training,
will you see, "Applicant must submit proper paperwork within n time units
or BSA will disavow knowledge of said leader's contribution to his unit."
This is ridiculous!
At our awards dinner this year I received two knots, one was for a knot I
put in for last year but, our CC never submitted it.... another story ;-(
Did I not deserve that belated recognition?
Last January we had a military type join our pack. He came from another
unit where he fulfilled the requirements for the Cub Scouter Award. He
asked if he could put in for that knot from our pack. Why not? What was
he supossed to do? Go halfway across the country to receive his recognition?
Our (new) CC made a few short calls, verified his "resume" and he received
his due recognition. I am proud that this man is a member of our unit.
This is not only a nation wide organization but, a worldwide one. If we
dedicated leaders from their just recognition for petty excuses such as
where and when a piece of paper is filled out what does that say about our
committment to the Scout Oath and Law? What does that say to all the
thousands of "volunteers" whom we induct into service for their
One Hour Per Week?
I submit that that unit does not see The Big Picture.
