Tom, I agree with you 100%. Sometimes a behind the scenes word from parent
to Scoutmaster can assist the Scoutmaster in making discrete inquiries when
it's appropriate, but all in all, I agree with you and so does our Troop (44
or so rechartered, with 5 Eagles in less than 4 years, with good retention
at the lower ranks.)
