I am in exactly the same situation as Mark. At one point someone sent me a
private email suggesting that I better "cool it" or words to that affect or
I would be put on the moderated list. Well I was already on the moderated
list. I don't think that I have ever posted anything offensive I don't
think that I have ever flamed anybody. I am not sure what I did to get put
on the moderated list. Because I don't know there is very little that I can
do to conform my postings to the norms of the list.
If I broke a rule, I apologize. Perhaps the rules should be posted from
time to time. I know this would help.
I was on another list that broke up because of too much censorship. The
list owner "banned" someone for no apparent reason. Many of us started a
new list, with an elected board of directors where it would take a majority
vote of an elected board to banish someone. Within a month, almost the
entire old list had left to join the new list and the old list died. I am
not suggesting that this list has come to that point but it is clear that
many of us are unhappy and confused about being put on moderated status,
especially because we don't know why.
