You can also lash a small table at a convenient height. Extend the legs
about six inches above the top surface of the table. Make a "box" on top
of the table by lashing poles to the leg extensions. Line the box with
an old tarp and fill it with sand or mineral soil. Build your fire on
top of the sand and cook your meal.
