I received the following message off-list, and was asked to post it to
these lists for other responses. I've purposely deleted any references
to the location to "protect the innocent" as Sgt. Friday would say:-)

My reply was:
NO. There is no such NATIONAL rule that I'm aware of. Councils DO
frown on units going to local businesses for cash donations, since they
then conflict with FOS fundraising, but a youth that goes to a local
business looking for "in kind" donations isn't the same thing.
Anyone else care to add to, or contradict my response?
