Check out the Okpik Cold-Weather Camping book, 1996 printing is the one I
have, no. 34040. I think you'll find it addresses a lot of your concerns, if
not all of them. It's a terrific resource for you if you are planing a cold
campout, whether or not you will be in deep snow. remember, in the BSA, below
50 degrees F is considered cold weather! (I hear all the Northerners saying,
"Fifty? Hell, that's Springtime!" and all the Southerners saying, "Fifty?
Yikes! I've never been out in that cold!")
Seriously, though, it makes some great fireside reading. Makes you want to go
out in the snow!
