All this talk about searching for a boy run troop reminds
me about a Weblos Den that we lost last Februrary.
While the kids were visiting, we had a seperate
meeting for the parents. We explained
(in great detail) how the troop is structured.
It seems that one visiting parent was frightened
by even the concept of a youth run program. It was
ridiculous to even CONSIDER such a thing!!!
"This is DANGEROUS and IRRESPONSIBLE",
she said, as she proceeded to convince the
other parents in her den.
This parent was determined to find a unit that was
adult run.. (they finally did). We lost 7 of the 8 kids.
We had one transfer in after a short while. I do not
know how many of the other ones stuck with the
