Get the BSA Publication, "Camporee Guide", No. 33571. Our troop (only 2
years old at the time) took on the task of organizing our district camporee
last year. The booklet was a good start for us. We had over 500 hundred
people attend. It was a huge success despite the fact that we had to
postpone once and move the location twice due to the October flood that hit
Central Texas. We also checked out every internet resource we could find to
determine different events. We are hosting the event again this year,
except it will be a freezoree due to the date of January 2000. We found the
weekend between playoffs and the superbowl was a good one last year. Of
course we don't get that much "freezing" weather in our area. Everyone did
qualify for the Polar Bear patch as it got down to 32 degrees. Good Luck!
