scouts-l Mail Archive for November of 1999: Recruiting Boy Scouts in classsroom visits
Sun Nov 14 1999 - 11:16:42 CST
The traditional sources of new members for our Boy Scout troop have been Webelos
crossing over from neighboring packs and current troop members inviting friends.
Last Spring, our two nearest feeder packs had virtually no 5th grade Webelos. As

reason, we have asked our District Director to arrange classroom visits to the
6th grade classes in the schools where those two packs are located. We have
arranged these visits for next Friday, when the high school has a half day, and
plan to have high school age Venture Patrol members, in uniform, put on a
presentation to the 6th grade boys in one school at 2 PM and to the 6th grade
boys in the other school at 3 PM.

presentations? What specific topics have been discussed? What handouts have
