no, I am thru with MB clinics and how to register counselors and most of
that type question, thank goodness. that was more thinking than I have done
in a long time and it's too much like work. I thought this was supposed to
be fun? :)
changing topics to our upcoming merit badge clinic. in looking for ways to
increase the quality of the instruction for the boys, a good friend of mine
suggested that each counselor prepare a workbook for his badge (s). the
book would go something like this.
Also, I'd like to strongly recommend that all
> the counselors assemble course workbooks. Not
> to sound unappreciative of their talents, a
> workbook is the best tool I know of for
> teaching merit badges. It helps the counselor to:
> - Conduct research on requirements
> - Polish his entire curriculum
> - Hold the boy's attention
> - Put class rules in writing
> - Ensure every boy takes copious notes
> - Reduce loose (lost) handouts
> - Spell out course expectations
> - Provide a study guide
do any of you use/recommend something like this for your mb clinics?
