Much has been said about this topic. Some of it germane to
this list, some of it not. I've read most of it with some
degree of interest as it has provided some insights into
religious beliefs other than my own, and I always find that
However, in a recent post it was written, "As far as respect
to the flag. That is clear. If a uniformed individual
hears the national anthem, sees the American flag, then that
individual is to stand, remove his/her cover, and salute."
Not true. If the hat in question is part of a uniform and
is being worn correctly, it stays on the head and the
individual renders the appropriate hand salute.
