Daniel Webster Council (NH) cuts MBC approval tot he District
Advancement Chairs - they know the local folk better than the people at
council - and generated a multipart form based on the 1994 MBC Info
Sheet, which is approved by the DAC. One copy goes to council and the
other two stay with the district and unit, respectively.
We look for SOME evidence of expertise in the badge(s) the scouter is
willing to council, and have no limit on the number of badges each
person councils, IAW National Advancement Guidelines.
Having said this, when I was the DAC, I would ask would-be heroes if
they REALLY wanted to council 45 badges, and thought they could do
justice to so many, but I rarely had folks wanting to work more than
7-8, and in these cases it was usually a small troop with few leaders
and committee members.
And since we are thanking Mike Walton... where to start... Thanks for
all the good words of wisdom and common sense.
