Darryl, just remember, the Scoutmaster serves at the pleasure of the
Committee and the Charter Organization. However, in this country we do
let the accused face his accusers, and see all the evidence against
him. It sounds like this needs to be talked about with the Scoutmaster,
the accusing Committee Member and the Committee present and the Charter
Org. and its representative.
I once had a parent tell me some of the boys in the troop were afraid
of me. So one night, as the Scoutmaster's minute, I took off my uniform
shirt, sat down and said: "Let's talk." A lot of things got aired out
that night, the boys learned something about me, and I learned a heck of
a lot about certain boys I was taking for granted. Plus I learned a
heck of a lot more the following summer, when I went to Wood Badge. The
main thing is to take off all badges of office and talk!
