Too often we as leaders or individuals can find that we are taking life way
too seriously and sometimes miss opportunities to smile and or just roar
with laughter when life presents us with rough going. By this point in the
Scouting year, most units are doing Scouting in earnest and have started a
sort of routine. And by now in more than a few units personality conflicts
are known, foibles have been uncovered, and funny things have happened. In
the spirit of serious levity, I would challenge each of you to share your
funniest Scouting story with the list along with whatever lesson may have
been learned from the experience. Perhaps you have a recollection that
would fit one of these themes:
Scouts Say and Do the Darnedest Things?
Just Too Funny Not To Repeat
Embarassing, but True
How'd That Happen?
It Could Only Happen to A Scout Leader?
You won't believe it, but . . .
- or any other humorous theme.
Who will get the laugh meter needle in the red zone? Who has the best
story? And whose story will have improved the most with age and retelling?
And no, I'm not planning to do a web page on humor, just thought it might be
refreshing to have a bit of good natured humor after so much discussion of
serious topics. :-)
