Congratulations on wanting to spend more time with your son. But, it
appears that you also enjoy the Program as well. If you do step down as
SM, why don't you become a MC or an SA to stay with the unit but not be
as active as you were. You didn't say how old your son was, but as most
parents on this list will agree to, when he turns 16 or17 he will have
other activities that he may not want you around for (girls, friends,
etc..). If you leave completely you can always come back but it may be
like starting over again.The hardest thing you have to learn, is the
hardest thing that those of us that are active can't do and that is to
say NO when you are asked to take over a program or an event.
