Scouts-L Mail Archive for September of 1999: Uniform Trivia

My Charter Org is having a Rummage Sale and I got a call this morning
that there were a couple of brand new uniforms with belt and pants that
they had put aside for us. It turn out they are lightly used vintage
uniforms. We are trying to figure out when these uniforms were used.
They are collar-less and of a heavy cotton type twill. On one there is a
curved City Strip, and a straight State strip. On the other there is a
Council shoulder strip but it is red twill with an embroidered white
edge and the Council name embroidered also in white. The chest pockets
have the center box pleat. The pants have a corner fold on the edge of
the front pockets that has a button and is piped in yellow, there is
also a Cub Scouts BSA patch next to the pocket. The yellow neckerchief's
logo is different, more blue I think in the printing.
Any help in pinpointing when these uniforms could have originally been
used would help. They are in perfect condition, doesn't look like any
rank parches were ever sewn on them.
The ladies running the sale have no idea who might have donated them so
I struck out there in dateing them.
Thanks for any help!
