I guess I would have to ask, "Recognized by whom?". BSA does not
recognise/approve any Wiccan religious awards, but they do not (now)
allow any Unitarian Universalist religious awards either. The US Army
certainly recognized Wicca, it has been a contentious thorn in their
side at Ft. Hood recently. Most faiths recognize Wicca, although some
may make warding signs when that name is mentioned.
Secondly, why are you, and by extention we, becoming involved in this?
I believe all a scout has to say is that he has beliefs that he
follows. I am not of the Wicca faith, and some of their beliefs strike
me just as strange as some of the Catholic, OR Bhuddist beliefs. I
still support their right to these beliefs, and feel that we all should
do the same.
