Why Cub Leaders dont talk much here and a Re-Introduction

Several members of the list have asked if there is a separate list for Cub
Leaders. Several other people in turn after I mentioned on the list that I
was fresh back from Cub Wood Badge said "Great - welcome to the list for the
It occurred to me that it was easy to believe that there aren't Cub leaders
on the list, so I figured it was time to re-introduce myself and offer some
reasons why many of us out here dont say a lot on the list.
While my primary job is Cubmaster for my Pack here in Herndon, VA, I'm also
doing Training, Pow Wow, Roundtable, and serving on my son's Troop
Committee. So I come to this list to learn about *all* the facets of the
Also as someone who has been on the list off and on for the last five years,
I learned that its best to consult the wisdom of the group and most people
will post to your mailbox directly. There are only fifty or so slots on
each day's list and plenty of topics to discuss - so I'd rather get answers
to my particular questions to me directly.
In turn, when people ask a question, I respond to them directly, only rarely
posting to the list. I find that many other people have already posted the
answer I was trying to say in a more eloquent manner.
Rather than posting for the sake of saying "Me Too!", Id rather let others
get a chance to express their opinions.
The only reason I mentioned to the list that I was going to Wood Badge was
that other people on the list nudged me to do so. Now that I'm back, I plan
to reclaim my spot near the marshmallows at the Council fire that never
