Roman, you are very much in luck as far as a good camp. Go to www.yawgoog.org
for a look at Yawgoog Scout Reservation. Yawgoog was started in 1916 and now
encompasses a little under 2000 acres. There are four ponds ( In Rhode Island
ALL lakes are called ponds) with three within the property completely. The
only real waterfront useable one is Yawgoog Pond which host three waterfronts
plus a Sailing/Kayak Center. The reservation hosts three separate camps (Camp
Three Point, Camp Medicine Bow, and Camp Sandy Beach) each with it own dining
hall, waterfronts, and campsites. The campsites consist some of 4 man
Adirondack(sp) shelters and others wall tents on platforms that sleep six.
Also three camps share common activity areas such as COPE course, Rifle
Range, Craft Center, Campcraft Center, Archery Range, Shotgun Range, Mountain
Bike area, etc.
Also you can visit the Narragansett Council site at www.narragansettbsa.org
Keep in touch I'll keep thinking about hooking him up with a troop or he
could go the provisional camp in Camp Medicine Bow called "Baden-Powell".
There glad to take any scout for a week or weeks and your $$$ <g>
