The name must be removed from the ballot PRIOR to the election. If the
name is left on the ballot, the SM approval is assumed. The election
instructions are clear on this. We have had cases where the SM left a
name on to not make the person feel bad, expecting that person to not be
elected. When the person was elected, the SM tried to remove the name,
but the election was complete and the person was inducted.
