Cooper, as an adult and a strong OA supporter you would think that I would be in
agreement with you, but Im not. It is apparent that the National Committee has
decided for whatever reason that young women are inappropriate to the Order -
yes, I know and acknowledge the argument about the "separate" divisions, and
having OA in venturer units crosses "program" lines.
The "venturer" contingent went so far as to have a lodge request venturer
membership in the OA, they were turned down, and the issue was addressed in an
OA operations update.
So now I apauld these young men and women, one door has been closed, at least
for now - and seeing that they are opting to try and open another door.
It seems we in the Order will have a choice, develop a way for all deserving
venturers to enter the Order, or see some of our membership go to a program that
allows what most of the youth seem to want - a co-ed honor program.
