As you've noted, you've probably received many responses giving you
for the troop to adopt OA activities.
As a youth member of the OA, a current adult OA adviser, and a father
of an OA member, I hope that this decision is not depriving the youth of
some excellent leadership development.
I can only suggest that you try to get a copy of the video "The
of Cheerful Service" that is very well done. It is offered by the OA
at national for about $9 or $10. It describes in some detail (some would
suggest too much detail) the essence of the order specifically for adults
who may have questions regarding certain customs and traditions. If your
CO still has reservations after viewing the video, then invite them to
their feelings with your SE and/or Lodge adviser. After that, you've
exhasted your options.
