Who could forget....
* 103 mile river raft trip on rafts we built during the winter months.
* 50 mile kayak trip in kayaks we build during the winter months.
* Snowshoe into camp, construct igloos and camp over long weekend
(this was WELL before rational people intentionally camped in the
snow. Being in California, we have to go out of our way to find a place
to camp in the snow (OK, quiet down you Midwest folks) and we
went with Scouts who had never experienced snow in their lives).
* Backpacking across a national forest, hiking off trail with only
map and compass (before the days of GPSS).
Hope this helps get the creative juices going....
