Does your Chartering Organization know that:
*there are NO REFERENCES TO ANY NATIVE AMERICAN RELIGION IN THE OFFICIAL
CEREMONIES USED IN THE ORDER OF THE ARROW?
*that ALL OF THE OFFICIAL CEREMONIES USED IN THE ORDER OF THE ARROW HAVE
BEEN CLEARED WITH A NUMBER OF NATIONAL RELIGIOUS BODIES AND WITH THE BSA'S
NATIONAL RELIGIOUS RELATIONSHIPS COMMITTEE BEFORE THEY ARE PRINTED OR USED?
*that NO PAINTING OR MARKING OF THE FACE, ARMS OR ANY PART OF A BODY BY
PARTICIPANTS OR CANDIDATES ARE PERMITTED AT ANY TIME?
*that ANY CHANGES TO THE OFFICIAL CEREMONIES CONDUCTED BY ORDER OF THE ARROW
MEMBERS ARE GROUNDS FOR THE LODGE TO BE DISBANDED?
(I placed those in boldtype only for emphasis; I'm not yelling at you, Sarah!!)
Knowing those things, what *specifically* are their objections to the Order
of the Arrow....or are they simply "misinformed" by "well-meaning people
whom are not Order of the Arrow members?"
Normally, Sarah, Order of the Arrow membership is based upon the unit's
membership electing those individuals in that unit. But there's nothing
that prevents you from transferring your son to another unit long enough to
become elected and then returning to the original Troop as a OA member (that
is, unless they also object to the wearing of the OA sash and pocket flap
