Scouts-L Mail Archive for August of 1999: Newest O'Neil
Wed, 11 Aug 1999 00:06:01 +0800
Just gotta boast - the newest addition to the O'Neil clan arrived today at
1:49pm, 10th Aug. Samuel James O'Neil weighed in at a hefty 4300gms (9lb
8oz) to finally restore equilibrium to our family by evening the numbers of
boys and girls (for those of you struggling to keep up with the O'Neil
clan, Samuel is number 8 child and completes a total of 4 boys and 4 girls)
Karin and Samuel are both well and resting up after a strenuous effort
during his arrival.
And while I'm boasting about my family, just have to mention that my
"little" brother (well, younger one at least) Bradley, with his friend
Glen, won the 8hp Sports category in this years Avon Descent during the
weekend just past. For those not familiar with the Avon Descent, it is a
two-day whitewater race along the Avon River from Northam to Perth.
Powerboats and paddle craft both compete, and it is recognised as one of
the most challenging whitewater races in Australia (I competed last year
with my dad in two single seat kayaks; I can attest that it is very hard
work. This year I took a break...)

I was miserable.
Then someone told me "Smile and be happy - things could get worse"
So I smiled and was happy - and things got worse...
