WHOA! WHOA! WHOA!!!!!!!!!....
NEVER in anything that I've said did I even IMPLY that we didn't let boys
register unless their parents did as well! I mentioned turning "about 20
boys away last year" but that was because of the physical capacity of our
meeting space and had NOTHING to do with whether their parents were
registered or not. We accept ALL registrations from boys on a FIRST COME,
FIRST SERVED basis with the following criteria in place:
1st: Brothers of current troop members
2nd: Incoming Webelos scouts from our brother pack, C3055
3rd: All others.
If we get 16 scouts and NO leader/parents we would be disappointed, but all
16 would be registered. We try to take in two new patrols of eight each
year (16 scouts). This year, we ended up with 20 with a few stragglers
that were on the priority list. We had about 40 boys who wanted to join
but our meeting place won't hold that many.
BLUE SKIES!, Any day above ground is a good day!
