In Crossroads of America Council, reservations for the following
year's summer camp opens up May 1 for in-council troops.
Out of council reservations are taken later.
Here's a problem that I'd like to hear any bright ideas from the
The council tries to limit the reservations to what can be handled
comfortably. There is a limit on each campsite as well as on the
entire camp. Thus, large troops may need two campsites.
It's hard to estimate how many boys I'll bring more than a year in
advance. This year, several troops in my town had 15 to 25 new
Scouts join each troop this spring. When several of these troops
go to camp the same week, the camp ends up overcrowded
because we grossly under estimated our numbers a year ago May.
