While I have been interested in this series of postings and have been
following it, perhaps it is now time to let the unit do what it does best.
I honestly am troubled by the feeling by Mr. Piccione and by Mrs. Piccione
that they should consider leaving Scouting because of this incident. And if

seem to be excellent, to consider leaving Scouting, then we have done a grave
I don't want to comment on the situation although based on the postings, I
certainly do have opinions. I simply wanted to give my opinion that Mr. and
Mrs. Piccione should not feel that they have any need to explain and justify
their leadership to the list.
I don't think that anyone did anything "wrong" Not the boy or the boy's

Picciones' responses and not the listmembers who have responded. Rather,
this incident just again makes the point that there are a number of sides to
every incident and that there are a number of points of view about what will
produce the best Scouting for any individual Scout.
And most importantly makes the point that a local incident is almost always
best handled locally and that almost all Scout leaders are people of good
will doing their best to produce outstanding Scouting.
