Ogden,Utah gets lucky!

Hello Ogden Utah!
You lucky devils, you are about to be able to be among the first to
welcome Mark and Tammy Tate into your councils. Mark and Tammy have been
active with our Cub Scout Round Table staph for several years, all of
them great! Their contributions have been huge (in addition to the Pack
they tended with loving care.)
Mark was assistant RT Commissioner and keeper of the keys to the
building. (His Pack was in the building, his congregation was in the
building, I guess he knew somebody) Our district was blessed for several
years with a magnificent facility to meet in! He also invented a
tie-slide to go with each month's theme for, oh, two straight years,
made a dozen of them and presented them each month to be door prizes;
all at his own expense. Tammy and Mark were there from before setup to
after the last light was out, taking care of the physical arrangements
and always being there to answer a question or point a leader to the
person to get the right answer.
Inside these real-live grownups are two people who have not
forgotten childhood and all the wonder that goes with it. Both are
crazy, deeply mad, as only the best Cub Scout Leaders can be.
I'll miss Mark most for the fact that he was the perfect balance of
quiet craziness for my mania. I'll miss Tammy for her being the kind of
person who is always ready to help and never, ever lost a shred of
composure when dealing with a hyper, disorganized clown who only
recently broke a three-year record for never having his handouts ready
until 2 minutes after the copy-shops close.
OK, so they ain't perfect. But until perfect wanders down the
highway, they are about as close as we are going to get. (Can you guess
that I didn't get a chance to embarrass them with these thoughts in
person? Yep, this is a tribute to two Scouters who deserve a Silver
Something...but are so quiet that the enormous contribution they bring
sometimes goes unnoticed. (Maybe the Silver Recliner, for the ones who
work and work to hold up all us noisy ones? It should come with a real
recliner so they could sit down once in a while))
But beware, Mark found the Fwd button on his keyboard and now
everybody gets to hear from him!!!!
So Ogden, the challenge is before you! Welcome Mark and Tammy Tate
with everything you got. They have a traveling e-mail address now,
marktateusa@Netscape.net so you can start making your RT staffing plans
now and avoid the holiday rush.
Sure, San Antonio has the NBA champions, big deal. Ogden gets the
