Are there any other Troops that have problems with so many adults attending
Our Troop seems to go through this every year. This year we had 20 scouts
and 5 full time adults and 8 part timers. What we do is set a priority . 1st
Scoutmaster and all assistants that want to go. 2nd. Committee persons ( if
these combined numbers equals more than the site holds ( committee persons
who have taken training ( scoutleader fundamentals and above go first then
others in order of receiving deposit. All Uniform and committee leaders pay
same fee. Adults of scouts that want to tag along are asserted a different
fee usually 10-15 dollars above leaders fee. This helps cut down on the
amount of add on adults.
We have never had a problem getting adults to take off their vacation for
summer camp and we are grateful as many troops have a problem getting even
TWO adults to commit to the week.
Hope this helps
