I'm sorry, but I couldn't let this one pass. I cannot see anyone using
the Scout Spirit requirement to hold up an eager, enthusiastic young man
who wants to advance quickly. Wrong message. If there are problems with
how he is living according to the Scout Oath and Law, yes, it's valid.
But it should never be used against a Scout who is advancing rapidly
toward Eagle at a young age."
Read the full content of what I wrote as stated above. It is used as the
requirement is intended, to make sure that a Scout is ready for the
responsibility of the next higher rank and that he is conducting himself
in accordance to the Scout Oath and Law, not as a time requirement. I
use the requirement religiously as a deciding factor, not a time
requirement. Are we straight??
Sorry for the additional post and confussion, but I had to set that one
straight. I typed it the way I wanted it, but the idea got lost in the
Eagle Class of '90
