I can certainly relate to Calvin's point of view here. And in his shoes,
I too would share his reluctance to slow down an early Eagle.
Still, I notice that this young man _wanted_ to attain Eagle and had a
reason he could articulate. I doubt many of us would have any
difficulty encouraging this early-Eagle *IF* we could be certain in our
own minds that it is the _boy_ wanting it, not the parent or a sibling
or a guidance counselor.
Many times, it doesn't become clear until AFTER the fact which it was.
