Scouts-L Mail Archive for June of 1999: Re: Garfield
Thu, 24 Jun 1999 21:35:51 -0400
I have the Garfield images that BSA is using in .jpg format. Because they
are proprietary to Paws, we cannot distribute them to the general public via
our website and clipart collection.
For those Cub Scouters who wish to receive copies of these images, please
send me an e-mail with the subject line "Scouter Requests Garfield Images".
In the body of your e-mail state your name and Scouting affiliation. For
example; John Doe, District Newsletter Editor, Wihatchi District, Cardinal
Council. PLEASE note I will be sorting these requests based on the subject
line. If you hit respond and do not change the subject line, I may miss
your request and you most likely won't see the images for some time. Sadly,
I'm several hundred e-mails behind in my correspondence.
I will only send the images to those Scouters presenting information
sufficient that I believe that is not a copyright violation to distribute
the images. BSA and its members can use the images on BSA promotional
material and Join Scouting Night materials. Receipt of the images
acknowledges that the recipient assumes all liability for use and agrees not
to distribute the images via the web or other public media.
On Sunday I will do a one time mailing to those who have requested the
images. The mailing will include four jpg images and two .gif images.
Uncompressed the files will total roughly 1 MB. The files will be sent in a
self-executing compressed file ending in .exe that you can click on to
uncompress the images. This file will probably be about 800 kb in size.
